Sustainability at Weather It

At Weather It we believe that we have a responsibility to future generations to look after the environment as much as possible!

As a small family business, we do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint.

We understand that there’s no magic wand when it comes to sustainability, so we keep sustainability in mind when making key business decisions to ensure we never lose sight of what is important to us.

So, what have we done?

  1. 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY.

We only consume certified 100% renewable energy at our premises. Therefore, we can proudly state that all the products we make in our factory are made using 100% renewable energy. Energy consumption and cost is high in manufacturing. Despite the additional cost of renewable energy vs. fossil fuel energy, especially in today’s volatile market, we thoroughly believe that this is worth the investment as it is core to our values.

  1. LED LIGHTTING. 

We have a policy to replace any halogen lighting with LED lights to reduce our overall consumption of energy.

  1. ELECTRIC FORKLIFTS.

We have invested in electric forklift trucks in our operation. This is instead of buying gas guzzling forklifts that release air polluting vapours that damage the environment and make for a pretty unpleasant working environment for our staff.

  1. DELIVERY PLANNING.

Where possible we plan deliveries well in advance of the delivery date so that our supply chain partners can reduce fuel waste by consolidating consignments.

  1. RECYLING

All of our offcuts that aren’t manufactured into a finished product is recycled and smelted down into new raw steel. There is literally no waste steel from our production process … and of course steel is 100% recyclable, so our finished products can be recycled into new products when the time comes.
