Superior Durability and Longevity
Unlike other types of steel or metals, Corten steel develops a protective rust layer or patina that protects the metal and prevents further corrosion, meaning it will withstand harsh weather conditions and last significantly longer.
Minimal Maintenance
Once the protective patina layer has developed on your Corten steel product, it needs virtually no maintenance! Other types of steel may need treating or repainting, but Corten steel continues to look stunning without effort!
Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal
Corten steel’s rich, earthy patina creates a unique, natural look that evolves beautifully over time. Blending seamlessly with any garden or setting, this visually striking element can’t be matched by other steels.

Gravel surfaces are very popular and look amazing. However, after use the gravel can start to shift, and weeds can start to grow. By using our Pathway Gravel Grid, you can enjoy the look and feel of a gravel pathway that is strong, stable, functional and perfectly permeable.

What is the purpose of a Pathway Gravel Grid?
Our Pathway Gravel Grid is innovatively designed to form a strong solid pathway from loose gravel or stone. It is perfect for Gardens, Footpaths, Terraces, and Patio Spaces.
The strong honeycomb grid keeps the shape, position and level of the gravel. This minimises bare patches, potholes, or mounds of stone.
Can I drive cars on this surface?
Technically, yes. However, it would require a significant amount of materials to provide a suitable solid foundation. It would be far more cost effective to opt for our 40mm Driveway Gravel Grid which is specifically designed to withstand vehicle movements of up to 3.5 tonnes.
What type of gravel can use?
The unique honeycomb structure in the gravel grid is 43mm diameter, the sheet height is 30mm. whilst all gravel type can be used with the pathway gravel grid, we recommend not to use a gravel type less than 4mm.
To allow for optimum compaction we recommend using a gravel type no more than 16mm
How do I install?
For pathways, we recommend you:
- Excavate the area you want to install the gravel.
- Instal the borders. Our Corten Steel edging is perfect for this application.
- Install a levelling layer of 15cm of sharp sand.
- Place the honeycomb gavel grid on this layer, ensuring that the honeycomb sections nestle nicely together with adjacent sheets and the geotextile layer is overlapping. Note, there is no need to pin or fasten the sheet together.
- Simply fill with you chosen gravel. Level with a shovel, rake and tamp. Do not compact eh gravel. The gravel should finish 20mm above the top of the gravel grid. This may settle lower after a few weeks or rain and usage. Re-apply more gavel to areas that have settled lower. After which, sinking will no longer occur.
How do I maintain it?
We do advise inspecting the installation area especially after period of heavy usage to ensure the honeycomb structure is still fill covered with stone/ gravel.
Remove any leaves at least once a year.
Rinse any soil or manure that gets on the gravel with a shovel to the top of the honeycomb layer. Replace any loose stone that is picked up in this process.
Weeds won’t grow through the geotextile anti-root matt after installation. However, weeds may grow within the gravel or stone you place on the gravel grid depending on the porosity of the stone you select. Higher porosity gravels retain more water and therefore are more likely to grow weeds. High lime content gravels also promote weed growth above the geotextile layer.
