Superior Durability and Longevity
Unlike other types of steel or metals, Corten steel develops a protective rust layer or patina that protects the metal and prevents further corrosion, meaning it will withstand harsh weather conditions and last significantly longer.
Minimal Maintenance
Once the protective patina layer has developed on your Corten steel product, it needs virtually no maintenance! Other types of steel may need treating or repainting, but Corten steel continues to look stunning without effort!
Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal
Corten steel’s rich, earthy patina creates a unique, natural look that evolves beautifully over time. Blending seamlessly with any garden or setting, this visually striking element can’t be matched by other steels.

Gravel driveways have become increasingly popular in the last few years because well, they look amazing! Normal gravel driveways after a while can look worn out or tacky, because consistent movement on normal gravel driveways can cause weeds to grow. By using our gravel grids for driveways, you can enjoy the look and feel of a gravel driveway that is strong, stable, functional, and perfectly permeable.
Read on to learn more about Gravel Driveway Grids...
Our Gravel Driveway Grids are innovatively designed to form a strong solid drive for vehicle use from loose gravel or stone. They are perfect for driveways, low-speed access roads, and car parking. They are designed with a strong honeycomb system, which keeps the grids in shape and well-positioned, as the level of gravel remains the same. This minimises bare patches, potholes, moulds, or stone.

What Size for Gravel Grid?
The unique honeycomb structure in the gravel grids is 43mm in diameter, with the sheet height being 40mm. Whilst all gravel grid types can be used with the pathway grid, we always recommend not to use a gravel type less than 4mm.
To allow for optimum compaction we recommend using a gravel type no more than 20mm.
How to Install Gravel Grids?
For driveways where there will be vehicle traffic, we provide a how-to guide on installing your Gravel Grids.
For a driveway or an installation where there will be vehicle traffic, we recommend you:
- Excavate the area where you want to install the gravel.
- Install the borders. Our Steel Edging is perfect for this application.
- Then you’ll need to install a well-constructed subbase of 150mm to 250mm. We recommend using MOT Type 1 compacted.
- Install a levelling layer of 20 to 50mm usually of sharp sand.
- Place the honeycomb gavel grid on this layer, ensuring that the honeycomb sections nestle nicely together with adjacent sheets and that the geotextile layer is overlapping. Note, that there is no need to pin or fasten the sheet together. The honeycomb sheets can be cut using a cutting disc.
- Simply fill with your chosen gravel. Level with a shovel, rake, and tamp. Do not compact the gravel. The gravel should finish 20mm above the top of the gravel grid. This may settle lower after a few weeks of rain and usage. Re-apply more gavel to areas that have settled lower. After which, sinking will no longer occur.
How do I maintain it?
We advise inspecting the installation area, especially after a period of heavy usage to ensure the honeycomb structure is still covered with stone/ gravel.
Remove any leaves at least once a year.
Rinse any soil or manure that gets on the gravel with a shovel to the top of the honeycomb layer. Replace any loose stone that is picked up in this process.
Weeds won’t grow through the geotextile anti-root matt after installation. However, weeds may grow within the gravel or stone you place on the gravel grid depending on the porosity of the stone you select. Higher porosity gravels retain more water and therefore are more likely to grow weeds. High lime-content gravels also promote weed growth above the geotextile layer.
What is the delivery lead time?
All orders will be fulfilled within 7 to 10 working days. Our team will be in touch to arrange delivery with you before we send your order to you.
Can you lay Gravel Grids on Soil?
You can, but to fully optimise the gravel grids it is best to lay down a membrane to minimise flooding and create a strong and durable surface for the gravel grids.
