Hear What Our Customers Say

Transform Your Garden with a Moongate

A garden moongate does more than mark an entrance. It's an architectural feature that draws the eye, framing the view beyond and creating a natural transition between different areas of your garden. Increasingly popular in modern landscape design, this circular steel arch brings structure and drama to outdoor spaces. Every ring is handcrafted in Britain, so you get a piece built with genuine skill, not mass production.

Why Choose a Corten Steel Moongate – 2.2 Meter Ring?

Creates a Stunning Garden Focal Point

Use it as a centrepiece in a feature garden or to mark an entranceway; either way, it adds instant visual interest.

Built to Last

Corten is a weathering steel, engineered to resist corrosion rather than succumb to it, forming a protective layer as it develops its patina.

Zero Maintenance

No painting, no sealing. The natural patina does the protective work for you, while your moongate develops its rich, rusted colour.

Handmade in Britain

Fabricated in our Midlands workshop, laser cut for precision and hand-welded by skilled fabricators, for a strong, seamless finish.

Landscaping Ideas: Where to Use a Steel Moongate

A Corten steel arch works hard in a garden design. Popular placements include:

  • As a garden entrance: frame the transition from driveway or patio into the main garden
  • Between garden rooms: use it to divide a lawn from a kitchen garden, or a formal area from a wilder planting scheme
  • Straddling a pathway: position it so visitors walk through the ring as they move through the space
  • As standalone garden art: set on a plinth or lawn as a sculptural feature in its own right
  • In commercial and hospitality settings: a striking addition to hotel grounds, restaurant courtyards or show gardens

Landscape architects and garden designers often pair a moongate with structured planting either side, drawing the eye through the ring towards a second focal point, a specimen tree, a water feature, or a view beyond the garden itself. FAQs

  • How do you make a Moongate 2.2-metre ring?

All our Moongate rings are made to order in our Midlands-based workshop by professional and highly trained fabricators. When your order is received by us, we begin outlining the size and measurements of the Corten steel ring and then laser cutting begins. With expert precision, we then seam-weld the pieces together, constructing your Moongate Ring into the final structure, before finishing it by treating the surface with a pre-weathering process, providing your Moongate with the iconic and stunning patina visual. All that’s left to do is deliver it straight to your door!

  • Does the Corten steel ring require maintenance?

Thanks to its durable nature and weathering process, you won’t have to lift a finger in terms of maintenance for your Moongate ring. Corten steel is made of highly durable metals and naturally develops a rust coating which provides additional protection against damage and further corrosion, in addition to providing beautiful autumnal colours. Weather It can speed up this process for you by delivering your Moongate pre-weathered.

  • How do I install the Moongate ring?

Our Moongates have been specifically designed for easy installation with several options for how you want the final structure to look. Each Moongate comes with a welded base plate which has laser-cut holes for fixing down to make it as simple as possible.

You can install the Moongate in 2 ways:

    • So the bottom of the ring is visible. – In this case, install a concrete pad at least 10mm (the thickness of the base plate) down from ground level so most of the ring is showing.
    • So the bottom of the ring disappears under the ground level. – In this case, install a concrete pad much lower than ground level to allow for the bottom of the ring to sit below ground level. This is ideal for when you want the Moongate to straddle a pathway.

Once the concrete pad is in place, simply use anchor bolts to fix the base plate to the pad.

  • Where do I put the Moongate ring?

Our Corten steel ring is extremely versatile and can be placed in several places in a garden space. Moongates can be used as entrances to your garden, to separate different areas, as standalone pieces of art or to flank garden paths. The choice is ultimately down to you!

  • How is the Moongate Delivered?

Our Corten Steel Moongates requires offloading on delivery.

The Moongate weighs approx 80KG but due to the size and shape we are unable to provide offloading via a tail lift as with our other products.

You will be contacted prior to delivery to arrange a date when you will have offloading assistance available.
