What are the café barrier planters made from?
Our café barrier planters are made from mild steel and then electro-zinc plated and powder coated with your chosen colour. We make our café barrier on wheels from structural grade, 2 mm thick steel as standard and we can laser cut your logo onto the planter with ease. We also make café barrier planters from Corten steel if you’re looking for a rustic planter built to last. They can be laser cut and although they are generally delivered before the weathering patina appears, we can supply pre-weathered café barrier planters if you need them – just chat to our expert team about your needs.
Can café barrier planters be used indoors as well as outside?
Yes, all our planters can be situated indoors as well as outside. Our café barrier planters are made with drainage holes as standard, but if you wish to use them inside, then simply request your planters be supplied without these holes.
How much weight can the moveable planters handle?
All our static café barrier planters can hold a great deal of weight, even those moveable barriers on castors can offer over 400 Kg of static load. Our café barrier planters on wheels have been tested thoroughly on flat surfaces, so they are not suitable for constant use over uneven or undulating surfaces, to be moved down steps or kerbs. If used unsuitably, the wheels will be handling more than the static weight and this will likely result in irreparable damage and the voiding of our guarantee.
How difficult are the café barrier planters on wheels to maintain?
It depends on the material and finishes you select on your barrier planters. If you select Corten steel, you will have virtually no maintenance, merely a simple brush or wipe down occasionally, and for those on wheels, regardless of their material, checking and lubricating the castors periodically may be all that’s needed. If your café barrier planters are powder coated and are scraped or scratched through the protective coating as far as the raw steel, it will be necessary to repair the scraped area swiftly to prevent water from getting behind the powder coated layer and causing greater damage. Any damage noticed on delivery should be reported within 24 hours of delivery, but a scratch that appears with time can be repaired with the right tools.
