How We Make Our Powder Coated Trough Planter
We make our Arden outdoor metal trough planters right here in the UK using a tried and tested five-step process:
- Laser cutting - first, we use a state-of-the-art laser cutter to create the basic shape of the planter
- Folding - the steel is then folded using specialist machinery, and a double fold is applied to the lip
- Fabricating - next, our expert team of in-house fabricators assembles the planter and gives it its final form, skilfully welding each piece together and smoothing the welds
- De-greasing - the steel is then de-greased and cleaned to remove any impurities
- Powder coating - finally, we use an electrostatic charge to apply a high-quality, coloured polyester powder coating which is baked to create a beautifully smooth finish
One of the key features of our custom powder coated planters is the double fold we apply to the lip. Most manufacturers either apply no fold or only a single fold. Our technique gives our planters superior rigidity and allows them to last longer.
Durable Materials for All Seasons
Our Arden powder coated large garden trough planters are made from electro plated Zintec mild steel. We make all our steel planters using 2mm thick steel as standard, but custom sizes can be produced in up to 6mm thick steel, depending on the intended use. We also offer our Arden trough and cube range in Corten steel and rustic patina finishes.
How Will My Order Arrive?
We have a trusted nationwide network of pallet and parcel couriers. Large garden trough planters or orders with higher quantities will arrive via a pallet courier, while smaller items will arrive via one of our parcel courier partners. Design Features and Installation
Our Arden outdoor metal trough planters feature a double folded top lip and 15mm feet, hidden under the bottom edge. These give the planter a floating effect and help encourage drainage to keep plants healthy.
If you prefer, we can also custom-build our planters without a base, meaning they can be placed directly onto the soil to create a raised bed. Alternatively, we can fit adjustable legs or castors for precise placement.
Perfect for Indoor and Outdoor Use
These modern garden planters can be used both indoors and outdoors, making a stylish addition to any setting. We supply them with drainage holes as standard, for outdoor use, but you can request yours to be fabricated without drainage holes for indoor applications. All dimensions are provided in millimetres in the length, width, height format (L,W,H) – you may not be able to change your dimensions or specifications once we begin production, so make sure to provide us with the correct details.
Maintenance
Arden powder coated trough planters are low maintenance and shouldn’t require any more than an occasional wipe down with a damp cloth. They are, however, susceptible to scratches from sharp objects, so take care when moving tools or furniture near your planters.
