How do we make a Square Planter?
We laser cut the steel to ensure our design is precisely and consistently replicated for each item. Once the laser cutting is complete, we use specialist machinery to apply folds to the sheet steel. We complete the fabrication by hand using only the best, qualified fabricators who take immense pride in their work.
Each Cube has a double folded return top lip feature. A lot of similar products on the market leave a steel edge, or a single fold. We have opted for a double fold for several reasons:
- It?s a much higher quality, premium finish (It just looks so much better!)
- It gives the Cube unbelievable strength and rigidity, and
- It?s safer for hands when planting.
The corners and connecting sides are fully seam welded and we take time and effort to smooth welds which provides amazing corner and edge detail. Once were finished you won't know where the welds are! As they are handmade by our professional fabricators each Cube is ever so slightly unique adding to the charm of this product.
What is it made of?
Our Rustic Patina Steel Cube Planter with Feet is made from a Hot Rolled Mild Steel. We make all our Rustic Patina Steel Cube Planters from 2mm thick steel as standard. Any custom sizes can be produced in up to 6mm steel depending on the intended use. How will my order arrive?
We have a trusted network of nationwide pallet and parcel couriers. Larger sized planters or orders with larger quantities will arrive via a pallet courier, and smaller sized orders will arrive via one of our parcel courier partners. All deliveries are fully tracked. How long will it take for the planter to weather?
Rustic Patina Cubes are available in a raw steel finish as standard. The finish will start to develop a beautifully unique orange and brown patina in a matter of weeks and will continue to develop over a period 6 to 12 months. Speed of weathering process depending on factors such as Weather, Climate, and Proximity the coast/ sea spray etc. You can order your planters pre-weathered if you're as impatient as we are!
Does the planter just sit on the ground?
No, these Rustic Patina Steel planters come with 90mm feet. This gives the Planter a unique and contemporary style and practically these planters can be relocated with a forklift or pump/ pallet truck. We can also add adjustable heigh legs or castors to the bottom of your planter. Can the Cube Planters be used Indoors as well?
Yes! They are suitable for domestic, commercial, indoor and outdoor use. The planters come with drainage holes as standard, if using indoors you may want to request that these are removed.
How do i maintain it?
Unlike wooden or plastic alternatives no maintenance is required at all! All you need to do is fill, plant and enjoy!
Other things to note?
Due to the natural weathering process the run off from rainwater and watering may stain the surface the planter is placed upon. This a higher risk during the 1st 6 months of the weathering process.
Where possible we have started the weathering process for you; planters can be delivered in various stages of the weathering process from new steel to full patina. Our Corten Steel Cube Planter with Feet range develops a patina more quickly than our Rustic Patina Steel.
All dimensions are in millimetres and in Length x Width x Height format. For example, 600 x 600 x 400 is 600mm long, 600mm Wide and 400mm high. The height stated includes the 90mm feet.
